Our Mission- Livelyhood

The goal on this project was interesting, as it was during the pandemic of Covid-19. We had to navigate with the particular guide lines that the government had mandated. The task was to coordinate the design and get the drawings approved from the City of Port Moody, Fraser Health, the Liquor Board and the Fire department. The bulk of the work was cosmetic with a few permits needed for signage and mechanical.

An overall face lift of the inside started with the main  bar being completely redone. Along with the bathroom, kitchen and seating areas. The exterior would also get a refinish. This was another fun build with many lessons learned in the process.

Our Team

Our crew on this project was staggered as the distancing had to be in place along with the covid-19 log station. We took time to pay attention to detail, time being on our side as the hospitality industry wasn’t allowed patrons due to the pandemic. We had to correct existing water leaks as the space had been run down from its previous tenant. The space had a few “audible’s” as we call it. Our metal fab crew had a big scope in this design, from the bar, lighting to the decorative shelves which divided the room, while acting a see through partition.

Signature Areas

This space has many key features to look at. When you walk in you will be greeted by a selfie neon area in the vestibule that you can take pictures at while you wait to be seated. You will then walk into a 40’ high peaked ceiling space with your eyes immediately going to the main bar, withs its custom lights, 36 tap draft system, to the gold powder coated bar shelves. Everywhere you go, you will be treated with lots of eye candy. This was another chapter of of Black Sails Contracting.
